Relax and unwind at Halmer Grange Guest House in the peace and quiet of the beautiful village of Goathland located in the North York Moors National Park. Halmer Grange is situated at the quiet end of this picturesque village surrounded by the outstanding natural beauty of the North York Moors. Halmer Grange is an ideal base from which to explore the moors, the coast; Robin Hood’s Bay, Runswick Bay, Whitby and Scarborough, as well as York and neighbouring market towns Pickering and Malton.

For Heartbeat fans visiting Goathland is a must. The village is at the heart of the ’60s themed TV series in which it is known as “Aidensfield”. Halmer Grange was featured in episode 5 of season 16 “Memoirs of a Fighting Man.

We’re also lucky enough to have the North York Moors Steam Railway just a few minutes walk away, for Harry Potter fans, Goathland railway station (NYMR), is the ‘Hogsmeade’ Station from the earlier films.

The NYMR runs steam and diesel trains to Pickering and also to the seaside town of Whitby, renowned for its connection with Captain Cook, Bram Stoker and Whitby Jet. Goathland is surrounded by picturesque walks; including the Rail Trail. As well as being the perfect accommodation for walkers, we also provide an ideal stay for the Pullman steam train diners as we are just a 10-minute stroll from the train station.
